A parent’s perspective: why we keep choosing Foundation at BISS
As someone who comes from a family of teachers and university professors—and who has spent several years studying at some of the world’s top universities—I have always believed that the right teacher can significantly influence a child's future. So, when my daughter was born, I was determined to find the perfect school for her.
My husband and I visited numerous open houses, explored different schools around the city, and met with principals, teachers, and assistants. But none of the options felt quite right. That was until we met Mrs. Mac at BISS.
It wasn’t just the small class sizes or the emphasis on early literacy that stood out—it was the holistic approach to early childhood development that truly impressed us.
When our daughter started at BISS, she was naturally reserved. However, thanks to Mrs. Mac’s encouragement and support, she learned to step out of her comfort zone and embrace new experiences. As parents, we especially appreciated Mrs. Mac’s focus on social-emotional development. On the few occasions when conflicts arose with other children, Mrs. Mac didn’t just address the situation with us and the other parents; she worked directly with our daughter to teach her conflict resolution, communication, and assertiveness. These lessons have had a lasting impact on how she navigates relationships and challenges both in and out of school.
When our second daughter was born, we didn’t hesitate for a second. We knew BISS was where we wanted her to start her educational journey. The care, support, and personalized attention our children have received over the years have been unmatched.
